Charlie Mahon Ceramic Designs

All ceramics are hand made and hand painted. The aim of my pottery is to complement other dinnerware at the table and can also be used for decorative and ornamental purposes. All my ware is dishwasher proof.

Now that I create original ceramic designs, I concentrate on the making of witty, expressionist ceramics, and therefore reintroduced the fun element into the creating and the making of the ceramic object. The end piece is a conversational work of art; this can be viewed as encompassing the three elements of my philosophy of work, pictorial, sculptural and functional.

Ceramic Wall Reliefs

These Wall Reliefs are designed and hand sculpted, all pieces are completed in one sitting and after the drying process and biscuit firing, I hand paint each piece.

Each piece follows it's own direction as I follow the clays natural flow and what I end up with is probably completely different.

Decorative Urns

I have created the Urns to bring the wall reliefs into the round. By doing this I've added another aspect to my work. It has brought it to another dimension.
